As a member of the American Boarding Kennel Association (ABKA), Affordable Pet Boarding, LLC freely acknowledges and willingly accepts the serious responsibility involved in the care of your beloved pets. As a part of that responsibility, we are committed to operate our kennel in accordance with the ABKA code of ethical conduct. See the ABKA ‘Bill of Rights” for boarded pets for the implied pledges.

This is a contract between Affordable Pet Boarding, LLC (hereinafter called “A.P.B.”) and the pet owner whose signature appears below (hereinafter called “Owner”).

1. Owner specifically represents that he/she is the sole owner of the above named pet, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances.
2. Owner agrees to pay, at check-in, all scheduled boarding fees and special request charges. Any additional days will be at the rate for boarding in effect on the date pet is checked in. In the event Owner is not able to pick up his/her pet at the scheduled time, Owner agrees to pay any addition costs and charges for special services. Owner shall pay all charges for services and boarding due to A.P.B. prior to release above-named pet.

3. A.P.B. reserves the right to refuse a pet that is determined a danger to other animals and/or people. A.P.B. may segregate a pet(s) from interacting with other pets. Owner agrees to allow reasonable restraint of their pet, use of control for excessive barking and possible removal from the premises as deemed appropriate in A.P.B.’s discretion.

4. Any pet whose inoculation records are incomplete or outdated or is found to have parasites will be quarantined until inoculations or infestations are corrected. In emergency boarding situations, instructions must be left with the Owner’s preferred veterinarian to allow A.P.B. to obtain the necessary records and treatment if needed. No animal will be allowed into the general kennel population until it has been determined that it will cause no hazard to other pets.

5. Owner agrees to allow their pet(s) to socialize with other pets of the same size and temperament at the discretion of A.P.B. staff. Pets will be monitored at all times while in the park areas.

6. A.P.B. shall exercise the most competent care for the above-named pet and place its welfare above all other considerations. It is expressly agreed by the Owner and A.P.B. that A.P.B.’s liability shall in no event exceed $200.

7. If pet becomes ill or incurs an injury, every effort will be made to contact the Owner or his/her Agent. If Owner or Agent cannot be contacted or if the veterinary technician determines it is an emergency situation that requires professional attention, A.P.B. will engage the services of a veterinarian. Owner’s preferred veterinarian will be used if possible. In the event of a medical emergency, the maximum dollar amount that Owner authorizes to be spent on veterinary treatment of the above named animal is $________ (enter amount at bottom right corner, i.e. $1000, $5000, unlimited). Owner agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold A.P.B., its employees, members and agents, harmless from and against any and all loss, cost, expense, claim, damage or liability or responsibility arising from such emergency veterinary treatment.

8. Owner agrees that A.P.B. will keep a credit card number on file for the duration of the above pet’s stay. Owner authorizes A.P.B. to charge the credit card account for outstanding kennel fees and emergency veterinary fees.

9. In the event boarding fees become delinquent, every effort will be made to contact the Owner or his/her Agent. If matter is not resolved within 72 hours the animal will be deemed abandoned and Owner’s rights will be waived. A.P.B. will determine disposition of the pet.

10. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator shall, as part of his award, determine an award of the prevailing part of the cost of such arbitration reasonable attorney’s fees of the prevailing party.

11. This Contract contains the entire agreement between the parties. All terms and conditions of this agreement shall be binding on the heirs, administrators, and assigns of the owner of the within named animal.
